Sy has gathered a panel of law clerks to discuss how each Judge handles their case load and day-to-day operations. The three law clerks will cover Family, Criminal, Civil, and Juvenile Law. The first part of the presentation will focus on getting to know the Judge and their staff that you are practicing in front of. How judges prefer handling cases and the day-to-day operations. The second part will focus on the duties and responsibilities of the Law Clerk/Staff attorney. It will also focus on what are appropriate discussions to have with law clerks and what is and is not Ex Parte. They will give preferences of each judge and what they expect of their law clerk while giving examples of each and how they differ. Sy will discuss a short section on secretarial responsibilities vs. the responsibilities of law clerks and how it differs between judges. The final section will be on Professional in the Courtroom. How an attorney should conduct themselves in the presence of the Judge and with the law clerks.
